The London Journalist was invited to the UK Consumer Launch party of new French luxury drinks brand: 'Sassy Cidre' at the bright and fashionable Lights of Soho, London.
Sassy Cidre – note not cider – is a new 100% pure fruit, gluten-free, organic, low-calorie craft cidre made in the Orchards of the Chateau de Sassy in Normandy. The brand was founded by two close friends Xavier d’Audiffret Pasquier and Pierre-Emmanuel Racine-Jourden, and was inspired by their childhood memories of traditional Normandy cider.
The cidre comes in three different flavours including Original, Pear and Rosé, offering a sophisticated touch to what Brits usually think of as a typical student bevvy. Boasting less calories than a glass of Prosecco, at just 50 calories per bottle (gasp!), Sassy Cidre is currently taking the fashion world by storm with them being served at Karl Lagerfeld's fashion show after parties.
Sassy Cidre based cocktails were fashioned on the night, including a Christmas inspired cocktail that warmed the heart and a gin & cucumber number dubbed 'The Norman Tonic'.
Due to Sassy Cidre's gluten-free, organic and low calorie status it is sure to be a hit with London's health-conscious hipsters. Its elegant, refreshing and unsweetened taste means this French concoction will also surely please the refined and puritanical palates that make up the UK's popular craft-beer and real-cider movement.
Sassy cidre is currently sold at Selfridges, and aims to be behind the bar at many high-end London establishments post-haste.
