Sushi Shop x Scott Campbell Limited Edition launch

The London Journalist was invited to Sushi Shop in Marylebone to the launch of their new limited edition sushi box in partnership with celebrity tattoo artist Scott Campbell.

Sushi Shop was founded in 1998 by French entrepreneurs Gregory Marciano and Herve Louis who have developed the brand, along with their third director Adrien de Schompre to be a European leader in sushi creativity with 88 retail outlets in France and 33 internationally. 

Sushi Shop deliver a wide range of Japanese and Californian-inspired sushi and are known for their artistic partnerships having collaborated with Kenzo, Lenny Kravitz, Kate Moss, Craig & Karl.

Sushi Shop x Scott Campbell have created a limited edition designer sushi box emblazoned with an iconic skull design which has tribal connotations in a cascading mandala style effect. The large box comes with 42 pieces of sushi, maki and rolls created by chef Pierre Boudy and also includes a limited edition temporary tattoo of Campbell's design.

Scott Campbell is an American artist, born in Louisiana, who has come to be known as one of the most talented and sought after tattoo artists in the world. His career began in San Francisco at Picture Machine tattoo parlour which gained its iconic status during a boom of success during the 60s and 70s. 

Campbell opened his own parlour in Brooklyn he called Saved Tattoo, which led to him becoming popular with celebrities including the late Heath Ledger, Josh Harnett, Orlando Bloom, Helena Christensen, Penelope Cruz and Marc Jacobs amongst many other celebrities from the art, fashion and film industry who proudly sport his designs.

He has recently taken tattoo artistry to the next level by introducing it to contemporary museums. His project Whole Glory involved 23 participants getting tattoos during the exhibition, only finding out its design upon completion.

Sushi Shop is not his first collaboration with another company, he has also has recently collaborated with Louis Vuitton, Berlutti and even designed a limited edition bottle for Hennessy.
